Amidst a number of undulating hills and mountains as part of East African Rift Valley Highlands, the Mtei estate farm sits in a micro- region lush with red volcanic, loamy clay soil. Orignally founded by settlers in the 1920s, this farm was transferred to Rift Valley Co-operatve union which is now leased to Mr.James Mtei, who has maintained the property as a coffee farm.

Then the coffee is washed and then put out to dry on raised drying tables in the sun. It is then handsorted before going into grain-pro bags, which offer a protective layer for export.

This coffee placed 3rd at the annual Tanzania Taste of Harvest Competition this year.
